Privacy & your media

Information we use

NEXIS (PTY) LTD operates CapeCastings. We use your verified account email, profile information, uploaded media, casting applications, booking briefs and order records to provide the platform. Amazon Cognito handles registration, password recovery and email verification. WooCommerce stores orders; Yoco handles card payment details. CapeCastings does not collect full card numbers.

Public and private information

Your reviewed stage name, biography, city, category, skills, languages, credits, published media and booking rate are public. Your login email, private shortlist, booking briefs, application history and service briefs are available only to the relevant account owners and authorised operators. A casting owner can see the public talent profiles that apply to their brief.

Photos and videos

Files are stored in a private Amazon S3 bucket in the Cape Town AWS region. Upload permissions are short-lived and limited to your account and approved file size and type. Approved public profile media is shown using short-lived viewing links. Anyone viewing a public profile can view or save its published material; signed links do not prevent copying. Photo location metadata is removed during processing. Unfinished staging uploads expire automatically.

Providers and security

Amazon Web Services, Cognito, WooCommerce, our email provider and Yoco process data needed to operate the service. Some authentication, email or payment processing may occur outside South Africa. We restrict account access, use encrypted connections and private media storage, and review content before publication. No service can promise that public material will never be copied.

Retention and your choices

You can edit your profile and remove portfolio files through your workspace. Changes require review before republication. Order, refund and payment audit records are retained where needed for accounting, disputes and legal obligations. Contact admin@capecastings.com to request access, correction, an account closure or deletion of data that is no longer required. Account closure does not remove records we must retain.

Cookies and communications

Essential cookies maintain sign-in, prevent request forgery and support checkout. Transactional emails tell you about account, booking and order activity. This release does not enrol you in marketing email lists merely because you create an account.
